HONORS FOR SEADREAM MANAGERS

Each year SEADREAM YACHT CLUB names a Manager of the Year for both SEADREAM I and II. It’s SEADREAM’S way of showing appreciation for vision, dedication and hard work. The honor goes to an officer or manager with direct team leader responsibility, regardless of onboard department. The two award winners are selected by SEADREAM’S President, Bob Lepisto in liaison with the Captains of each yacht.

For each winner there’s a $1,000 cash prize, a four-day holiday in a luxury shore-side hotel or resort including an allowance for incidentals, an engraved crystal plaque and a handsome photo with the Captain to commemorate the honor.

* Worathai Dedpopra, Spa Manager aboard SeaDream I (Wah to her fellow staffers and her happy guests) was born and raised in a small beach town in Thailand. After she finished high school she moved to the big city, as do many young people everywhere. The big city for Wah was Bangkok where she went to Thaimmasat University and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy. Her career path established, Wah became a spa therapist and spent several years with major spas in Thailand and also in China. When she came to SeaDream in 2008 Wah knew she had reached the pinnacle. Today she manages a team of experts---all accredited Thai spa therapists---and devotes her time to making guests happy. “How many jobs are there that you can say make your customers really feel happy?” she asks.

* Peter Rima, Hotel Manager aboard SeaDream II, a native Hungarian, came to SeaDream in 2003 in what the hospitality profession calls a chef de rang---more commonly known as a head waiter. Peter was on a fast track and in 2009 he was named Hotel Manager. How did he get there? Peter studied restaurant management and the English language in Hungary and nursed an insatiable desire to see the world. In 2000 he became a busboy on a large cruise ship. By 2002 he had risen to head waiter. That’s when he caught the eye of astute SeaDream recruiters who are always on the lookout for talented and ambitious young people. And, as they say, “the rest is history.”

Wah says of her award: “I am so lucky to be a part of SEADREAM and I am so happy to receive this wonderful award. There are many people I want to thank. First, my parents- they will be so proud of me. Then, my big SEADREAM family-they all helped me win this award. Thank you to everyone.”

Peter said, “I really appreciate this award. I long ago realized the importance of education and I appreciate SEADREAM YACHT CLUB supporting me and helping me attend management courses at Cornell University. My personal goal is to keep the SEADREAM standard as high as possible and to assure that our guests are completely satisfied.”
