If you are ready to enjoy a bit of culture and are longing for a visit to one of Croatia’s larger cities – we suggest you do not miss the opportunity to join us on this visit to the city of Split; the historic and commercial center of Croatia.

Today SeaDream anchors off the tiny but picturesque island of Trogir; connect to the mainland by a bridge. We commence our excursion to Split with a brief walk through the narrow cobble stoned streets of this charming walled town before we reach our transport vehicle.

As we depart Trogir and drive towards Split we have the opportunity to visit the dramatic gallery of Ivan Mestrovic who is known as Croatia’s premier modern sculptor. Ivan Mestrovic built this gallery as a personal residence in 1931. This comprehensive and well- arranged collection of works is sure to leave a lasting impression. The gallery is located just outside the town of Split. Then it’s on to the city of Split, which is the product of 17 centuries of building, renovating and remodeling.

Today, Split is an amazing mesh of old and new. At the core of this sprawling cityscape is one of the two the highlights of today’s excursion, The Diocletian Palace, dating from the 4th century. The Palace is one of the most Imposing sites in existence. Far from being a museum, the 220 buildings within the palace boundaries are still home to 3000 people as well as housing shops and cafes. A walking tour visits the cellars of the palace, the Cathedral of St. Duje and the Temple of Jupiter. After exiting the cellars, the Golden Gate and Peristyle Square will also be seen.

Enjoy a bit of free time to explore the colorful open market or do some people watching before re-boarding your motor coach for the return to your SeaDream yacht in the town of Trogir.

Notes:
Please wear comfortable walking shoes; many of the sites visited today will be explored on foot (for the most part on level terrain though there are some steps in the cellar and at the cathedral). However, the ride to and from Split allows you the opportunity to rest your legs.

Duration: 6½ hours
Departure: Morning

A scenic 70-minute journey from Trogir brings you into the beautiful countryside along the banks of the Cetina River. Those with an adventurous spirit and love for untouched nature will enjoy this rafting experience and the magnificent canyons, waterfalls and lush vegetation surrounding the Cetina. Experienced skippers will accompany you throughout the trip. After a lot of excitement in the water, head to the Radmanove Mlinice restaurant for refreshments and lunch before returning to Trogir and SeaDream.
Notes:
The Cetina River rafting is rated as Class 2-3 rapids, which can involve waves up to 4 feet and rapids requiring some maneuvering of the raft. Water levels on the day will vary and affect the classification. Under-dress your swimsuit, wear shoes that can get wet, and bring some dry clothes to change into. Lifejackets will be provided and must be worn.
