CIVITAVECCHIA, ITALY Rome hotel and airport disembarkation transfers

The port of Civitavecchia is one of the two most popular ports in the entire Mediterranean with several cruise ships visiting almost daily.

There are very limited means of transportation available into Rome. Therefore, it is imperative that you book your transfers as soon as possible. We suggest that you do so even before you leave home, either through SeaDream or your travel agent.

Guests requesting a transfer to the airport must allow AT LEAST 3 hrs prior to their flight departure to get to the airport in time for check-in. If flying in economy class, to the USA and/or on an American Carrier, we suggest that you allow at least 3.5-4 hours

Approximate transfer duration by private car: • Civitavecchia to Rome city center, approximately 75 to 90 minutes’ pending on traffic • Civitavecchia to the airport (FCO) approximately 1 hour

Sample private car costs: Civitavecchia to Rome city center/hotel, one-way transfer with CAR and Italian speaking driver: US$398.00 per car. (Pending on the amount and size of your luggage, we do not recommend more than 2 passengers per vehicle)

Civitavecchia to Rome city center/hotel, one way transfers with a VAN and Italian-speaking driver: US$498.00 per van. (Pending on the amount and size of your luggage, we do not recommend more than 6 passengers per vehicle)

Civitavecchia to Rome International airport (FCO), one way transfers with CAR and Italian speaking driver: US$398.00 per car. (Pending on the amount and size of your luggage, we do not recommend more than 2 passengers per vehicle)

Civitavecchia to Rome International airport (FCO), one way transfers with a VAN and Italian-speaking driver: US$498.00 per van. (Pending on the amount and size of your luggage, we do not recommend more than 6 passengers per vehicle)

Should you wish to wait until you board, the same prices apply but we kindly ask you to note the following:

Taxis: On an average day, they’re maybe as few as 20 taxis available, for all ships and passengers in port that day. Taxis operators are independent contractors and we cannot guarantee that any taxis will be available at the pier. Please take this into consideration when planning your disembarkation.

Taxis, if available, are also not accommodating in accepting fares to the train station or to car rental companies in the area. SeaDream can assist you with private transfers but unfortunately we do not control the public taxis.

Shuttle buses: There are no such buses that operate from Civitavecchia to Rome or to the international airport (FCO).

Train: There is a train station about 2 km (1.25 m) from the port but the port authority does not provide a shuttle to take guests directly to the station. The shuttle stops at the town’s gate and from there will be a 10-minute walk.

The train leaves approximately every 30 minutes. Once at the station, one would take the train to Roma Termini. Then take a train or taxi to FCO airport or your hotel.

Additional private arrangements for independent sightseeing with a local guide may be requested through the SeaDream Office or onboard, but not less than 72 hours prior to arrival into Civitavecchia.

SPECIAL NOTE: Each season, SeaDream receives some comments from a number of guests that have set up their own independently booked transportation from the yacht to the city of Rome or to the airport. The most common complaints being - late arrival of their transport, their transport arriving at the port of Civitavecchia but not being allowed to enter the port for access to the

SeaDream pier, or their vehicle not showing up at all. Kindly note that SeaDream Yacht Club cannot take any responsibility for such independently booked arrangements. It appears that, in many cases, these unsatisfactory services where booked by these passengers via various websites online.

SeaDream does not endorse any such companies as we have found that many of these companies available now online are often individual drivers working from home and do not have the proper insurances, reliability record, nor gate permits at the port and additionally, are not fully registered with the Rome Fiumicino Airport and the Civitavecchia port in order to comply with the security regulations implemented a few years ago to allow access to airport/dock facilities.

SeaDream transfers are all organized through one of the major car companies in the area and one that also supplies vehicles to a number of foreign embassies in Rome. Of course, this company also posses all the proper insurances and permits as required. In addition, all transfers booked through SeaDream are also provided with personal supervision at the pier to ensure a smooth transfer.
