We hope you will join us on this half-day visit to one of the medial villages and local vineyards of the Provence. This adventure into the surrounding hills above the Mediterranean provides you with an interesting viewpoint and juxtaposition to the chic resorts along the coast while leaving you with enough time to explore St. Tropez. Leaving St. Tropez, drive inland through the vineyard region before reaching the village of Gassin. This charming old village has retained all its Provençal character and sits at an altitude over 650 feet, above and in complete contrast to the many seaside resorts. Its location on the Terrace des Barri is planted with lotus trees and provides an ideal lookout point out to St. Tropez Bay and the Mediterranean. Continue your drive along the local wine roads en route to your next destination and visit to a local vineyard. This family-owned property produces lovely wines and offers a typically Provençal setting to enjoy a sampling of the local varieties before returning to your SeaDream yacht in St. Tropez.

This adventure is for the active and fit as it includes some steep uphill walks on uneven cobblestones. Comfortable walking shoes are a must. A minimum participation is required to operate all Yachting Land Adventures and some have limited capacity. There is more to explore than the small village of St. Tropez and we would like to suggest that you consider this lovely half day outing to discover the region beyond this resort.

Only a few short miles away from Saint Tropez, you can experience the contrast of a modern resort development along with the charm of a weathered hilltop village. First, proceed to Port Grimaud harbor, a village with a most unique charm designed by the famous architect François Spoerry. Looking like a Mediterranean fishing village, it is a modern complex of luxury housing with a fully equipped marina.

Barges will carry you along the waterways for a very pleasant tour through this lively village, past the pastel colored houses covered with Roman tiles and all linked by canals, alleys, tiny squares, and bridges. You guessed it - The Venice of France!

Your next destination takes you on a pleasant countryside drive to Grimaud village, a "perched" village. After a short uphill walk, explore its quaint and rustic appearance as you stroll towards the center of the village along one of the lanes leading to the remarkable monumental fountain. Enjoy a brief exploration through the winding alleyways enlivened by the many local craftsmen.

After this visit, return to the summer bustle of the coast in St Tropez with plenty of time to explore this chic village on your own.
