• The Acropolis, naturally! Don't be tourist, race up the hill to visit the Parthenon and leave. Take the time to explore the entire lower section at the foot of the Acropolis as well. Linger in the surroundings of the hill and visit the Theatre of Herodes and the Theatre of Dionysus among other sites. It is worth your while and makes for a much more rewarding experience (allow no less than 90 minutes for a relaxing visit). Note: The small museum on top of the Acropolis is currently (2007) closed for renovation.
• A nice stop for photos of the Acropolis can be had from the nearby Pnyx Hill; this stop only takes a few minutes but the pictures will last forever.
• Once you have completed your visit of the Acropolis and surrounding area, a nice walk can be enjoyed if you exit the grounds of the Acropolis via the north entrance near the Stoa of Attalos, the Roman Agora and the Tower of the Winds. From there it is an enjoyable walk through the Old Athens (Plaka district) past Antique and souvenir stores as well as galleries, ending up at the city center and Syntagma Square where you can also find the Parliament building and the Grand Bretagne Hotels. Take your time during this walk; it can be done in a quick 45 minutes. But we are sure that you will want to linger so allow at least twice as much time; and once you are off the Acropolis hill, the entire rest of the walk is on mostly flat surfaces, unless you select to walk up some of the slopes in the Plaka.
• Mount Lycabettus for amazing views of the city
• "THE" famous National Archaeological Museum (how much time do you have? You can spend days in there). The museum is looking better than ever having been renovated for the 2004 Olympics.
• The Benaki Museum (varied and interesting, 60 minutes or more). The outdoor rooftop restaurant is popular with locals.
• The Museum of Cycladic Art, small but worth a visit (about 30-45 minutes). The small courtyard is a nice place to take a coffee break.
• The Lalaounis Jewelry Museum in Acropolis area
• "If you wish to explore the outskirts of the city as well, the drive along the coast to Cape Sounion is highly recommended. The setting of the Temple of Poseidon and the views across the Aegean Sea are spectacular.
  NOTE: All of the above sites and museums are open on Sunday!
• Should your visit fall on a Sunday, you may wish to stroll through the "Flea Market" in the Plaka district. There you will also find many shops, catering to visitors, open even on a Sunday.
• For lunch the choices are many. We would like to recommend restaurants with a local flavor such as one of the many restaurants located at Microlimano the charming fishing harbour half way between Piraeus and Athens. Or, one of the tavernas in the Plaka district of Athens.
• If you are planning dinner in Athens, our favorite is the rooftop restaurant at the beautiful Grand Bretagne Hotel in the centre of Athens (early reservations are essential). The night views of the Acropolis are simply stunning and the food is delicious; for a romantic dinner, it is hard to beat. The restaurant is also open for lunch (from 1:00 PM) but in our view, it can get a bit warm up there during the day.

Is this your first visit to Athens? Has it been some time since your last visit? This Yachting Land Adventure explores one of the most famous ancient sites in the world: legendary Troy. The name Troy refers both to the remains of a Bronze Age fortress at Hisarlik Hill near the entrance of the Dardanelles, and the legendary city of King Priam that was destroyed by Acheans in the Trojan War. The hill is associated with the sagas of the Trojan War and its description by Homer (750 BC) in his two epic poems "The Iliad" and "The Odyssey." Archaeological digs have revealed nine cities and various ruins of the city walls, typical house foundations, a temple and a theater. There is also a symbolic "Wooden Horse" near the site. Next to the entrance of the site you can see a small museum, where samples of the pottery work and finds from the east gate of Troy V, Temple of Athena, the Roman Theater and senate building are on display. After a short break outside of the Troy, you will drive back to the Archaeological Museum of Canakkale City. The archaeological museum houses many objects distributed in 5 different halls; Canakkale ceramics from 17th century to 20th centuries showing the city as one of the most important cities of ceramic production during the Ottoman Empire. View chest of drawers from the 19th century used in the oldest mansions of Canakkale indicating the best samples of wooden workmanship of the era, tomb steles from Kyzikos in Mysia and ancient towns of Troas region, many findings from Troy, arts discovered in Can and Yenice tumulus dating from Hellenistic period, findings from the ruins of Dardanos tumulus from 6th and 2nd centuries BC, and sculptural and architectural findings from Assos (Behramkale) and Gulpinar (Apollon Smintheion Holy Area). At the end of the visits, return to Kepez Port to rejoin the yacht.

On this adventure you have the opportunity to pay a visit to perhaps the most moving site in all of Turkey: Anzac Cove and the World War I battlefields of Gallipoli. We recommend that you make time and visit this hauntingly beautiful area where for more than nine months (1915-16) Allied and Turkish troops faced one another in one of the world's most tragic battles to gain control of this most important waterway " the Dardanelles. In order to enhance your visit and understanding of the events we are brining in some of the most knowledgeable guides all the way from Istanbul. Start your visit with anticipation as you cross from our pier on the Asian side to the European side of the Dardanelles by local ferry and come ashore where the ill-fated Allied landing was supposed to have been made. To honor the 500,000 soldiers who lost their lives at Gelibolu (Gallipoli), the peninsula was turned into the Gelibolu Historic National Park. The area includes memorial monuments, the Ariburnu Cliffs and Tuz Lake. The natural beauty of the green hills, sandy beaches and blue waters provides a fitting resting place to those who bravely fought and died in this historic battle of World War I. One of our favorite visits is to Chunuk Bair where you enjoy a special moment as you not only soak in the beautiful views of the peninsula but also look into the actual trenches where the soldiers watched out over the cliffs. Just close your eyes and try to image... Your fist visit will be the Kabatepe Military Museum, which contains relics from the campaign including original diary extracts and letters, then you will continue your visits with Ari Burnu Cemetery and North Beach on the Anzac Cove, the landing place of Australian & New Zealand army crops. Continue with a drive up to the Chunuk Bair, where you will visit the Lone Pine Australian Memorial and view the Johnston's Jolly on route. You will see the trenches & tunnels of the battlefields and the New Zealand Memorial Monument on the top of the Chunuk Bair, which was one of the two targets that planned to capture on attack where Turkish defenders and soldiers of New Zealand & Britain fought closely. You will also have a panoramic view to Suvla Bay where was a large and ideal location for the landing for additional troops during the war. Following this moving lesson of human history, re-board the local boat for the return to Kepez and SeaDream.

Brimming with ancient history and magnificent classical architecture, this tour visits Priene, best known for its 4th-century Athena Temple bankrolled by Alexander the Great. A five-thousand spectator theater built in the 3rd century is next, along with a gymnasium and a stadium at Anatolia. Priene was one of the first cities in the world to have streets laid out at right angles. Then take a drive through the rolling hills and scenic farms until you reach the Ancient City of Miletus. Next visit will be Miletus, the oldest of the most powerful of the 12 Ionian cities of Asia Minor is where the world's first coins were minted and exact weights were first established. The main attraction is the theater, originally built in the 4th Century BC and enlarged to a capacity of 15,000 during the Roman period. Then journey back in time via the Sacred Way en route to Didyma.This ancient road was once flanked by lions, sphinxes and statues of priests. In Didyma you will see the Temple of Apollo " considered to be one of the great monuments of antiquity, built in 560 BC. It still remains overwhelming, both by it's enormity and intricacy and was the third largest structure of the Hellenistic world. In the space of a few hours you will have experienced three of the most stunning sites of the ancient Mediterranean cultures. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant in Didyma where you will be offered a buffet including many classic Mediterranean dishes served with unlimited local beverages. After a relaxing lunch we return to Kusadasi where you may enjoy a carpet demonstration and some time for shopping or return to the ship.

This comprehensive SeaDream Land Adventure includes a guided tour of the stunning archaelogical site of Ephesus including the recently excavated Terrace Houses, but also adds a visit to the House of the Virgin Mary. Three popes have visited this important shrine, which is a pilgrimage site for visitors from all over the world. The House of the Virgin Mary is located on Mt. Pagus, and said to be where the Virgin Mary spent her final days. The site itself was discovered in part through the visions of an invalid nun in Germany who had never been out of her homeland. A tree-lined path leads to the ancient dwelling, tastefully restored in 1951. The tiny stone cottage exudes a calm and serenity befitting its original occupant. Below the house is the Fountain of Our Lady, where a sacred spring feeds three fonts, each bestowing a unique blessing on the visitor. Those not wishing to visit this site will be offered tea close by. The site of Ephesus gained importance from ancient time due to its well-placed port and its religious significance, which the locals were not above exploiting. After the Emperor Augustus proclaimed Ephesus the capital of the Asian Province in 27 BC, the city became one of the most important in the extended Roman Empire. Most of the buildings you will see date from that era when Ephesus had nearly one quarter million inhabitants. Begin at the Magnesia Gate, where your expert guide will take you on a leisurely downhill walk through the marble streets of the city, pausing to describe the significance of the sites along the way. View the Gymnasium, Odeon, Fountain of Trajan, Temple of Hadrian, Upper Agora, Town Hall, a Byzantine house, Roman baths, and the surprisingly efficient public toilets. One of the most imposing sites at Ephesus is the Library of Celsus. Finely decorated with columns and sculptures, the library was erected in 135 BC by a son in homage to his father. A short walk away is another significant structure, the amphitheater, which is known for its excellent acoustics. This is where St. Paul preached to the Ephesians, imploring them to give up their worship of Artemis and embrace the Christian faith. A highlight of your day will be entry to a newly opened and recently excavated portion of the historic site. The so-called Terrace Houses can be seen on the slopes behind Ephesus opposite the Temple of Hadrian. Those on the upper slopes are reached via steps and situated on the slopes of Bulbul Mountain with the roof of one house forming the terrace of the one above it. These houses were inhabited by wealthy Ephesians and are finely decorated with mosaics and frescoes. According to the evidence of the excavations, they were built in the period of Augustus and continued to be inhabited until the 7th century AD.

View the Gymnasium, Odeon, Fountain of Trajan, Temple of Hadrian, Upper Agora, Town Hall, a Byzantine house, Roman baths and the surprisingly efficient public toilets. One of the most imposing sites at Ephesus is the Library of Celsus. Finely decorated with columns and sculptures, the library was erected in 135 BC by a son in homage to his father. A short walk away is another significant structure the amphitheater which is known for its excellent acoustics. They believe, this is where St. Paul preached to the Ephesians, imploring them to give up their worship of Artemis and embrace the Christian faith. A highlight of your day will be the entry to a newly opened portion of the historic site called the Terrace Houses. This incredible discovery can be seen on the slopes behind Ephesus opposite the Temple of Hadrian. Those on the upper slopes are reached via steps and situated on the slopes of Bulbul Mountain with the roof of one house forming the terrace of the one above it. These houses were inhabited by wealthy Ephesians and are finely decorated with mosaics and frescoes. According to the evidence of the excavations, they were built in the period of Augustus and continued to be inhabited until the 7th century AD. This is truly one of the best archeological sites on the planet and an absolute “must see” to anyone visiting Turkey!

You board your air-conditioned coach for a drive to the beautiful picturesque fishing village of Naoussa which is located in a huge bay in the northern part of Paros, 10 kilometres east from the capital, Parikia. Naoussa is considered to be one of the prettiest villages in the Cyclades and, despite the development of tourism, this lovely village has managed to keep its authenticity, its character and its charm, with its whitewashed and flowered little houses and its tiny whitewashed churches and chapels, surrounded by labyrinth-like narrow, stone-paved streets. To continue your land adventure, you will board your coach and while having a panoramic excursion of the island on the way, you will proceed to the traditional village of Lefkes, a beautiful village built in an amfitheatrical style, up the main mountain with wonderful vistas all around. The town hall is especially nice being built with the famous Marble of Paros. Your next stop will be Parikia town, the capital of the island where you will visit the famous Church of Ekatontapyliani (Our lady of a Hundred Doors). This church is the holy place of Paros and is linked to the history and myths of Byzantium. Tradition and history state that the church began life in the reign of Constantine the Great (280 - 337 A.D.) or Justinian (527 - 565). After its restoration in 1959, this church, the brightest jewel in the crown of Orthodoxy in the Aegean, became the third most important Christian building in Greece, after the Panayia Akheiropoietos and St. Demetrios in Thessaloniki.

Depart from the pier today for a short scenic ride to Chora and the Monastery of St. John the Theologian, built high on an ancient acropolis. The monastery's massive 15th-century walls and 17th-century battlements loom over the town belying an intimate and peaceful interior of arches, inlaid pebble stone floors, and whitewashed buildings. The charming chapel of Christodoulos is profusely decorated with frescoes and the old treasury, now a museum, displays a breathtaking collection of jeweled chalices, crowns, crucifixes, vestments and old manuscripts. Travel on to the Grotto of St. John where the saint heard the voice of God and wrote his revelations. It was here, the most sacred spot on the island, where St. John the Theologian spent 16 months in exile, and this simple cave is now a chapel and place of pilgrimage. The iconostases built into the cave depict St. John's visions and the spots where the saint slept, wrote, and heard "a great voice, as of a trumpet." Back in Chora you'll visit one of the traditional Patmian houses, the house of the Simantiris family. The magnificence of Patmian home interiors is stunning. Entering the thick wooden entrance door is like stepping into another dimension, with Venetian style furniture, handicrafts and multi-colored mosaic ceilings dating from the 18th century. After your visit, drive through the town of Chora on the way back to SeaDream in Skala.

A renowned Greek chef will introduce you to the gastronomical culture and heritage of Santorini island and teach you how the experts prepare the exquisite Greek cuisine. Starting from the Old port you will take the cable car up to Fira town where you will be met by your guide. Together you will walk along the narrow cobblestone streets before you board your mini-bus for a drive to one of the most beautiful traditional settlements of the island, the village of Megalochori. Arriving at the village you will take a walk through the stone cobbled streets of the village admiring its impressive mansions before you reach the charming restaurant located within one of these old traditional mansions. Upon arrival at the restaurant you will be greeted by the owner and well known Greek Chef while being offered a glass of Santorinian wine and taking a few bites of the unique Santorinian products. The chef and his team will be then give you a brief introduction to Cycladic island cuisine and particularly to the local products of Santorini like capers, fava (small yellow peas), cherry tomatoes and local cheeses. If you have been to Santorini before, you have admired the view of the volcanic caldera from high up on the cliffs of the whitewashed villages of Fira or Oia. You may, then, have wondered about the two islands in the center of the caldera. These are the two small uninhabited volcanic islands called Nea ("New") Kameni and Palea ("Old") Kameni. On this land adventure you will have the opportunity of visiting these islands. A local caique will take you from ship's side for a 15-minute boat trip up to Nea Kameni. The sail will take you along the volcanic shores with the peculiar rock formations. The black volcanic rocks contrast wildly with the white pumice, offering impressive views. After disembarking the caique, a 30 minute hike will take you to the crater of the still active volcano. During your walk up on an ascending path you will have the opportunity to observe lava fragments and the volcanic rock formations. Once you have reached the crater you will have time to relax and enjoy the view of Santorini Island and the amazing cliff-walls of the caldera. Descenting back to the caique, you leave the volcanic island and sail towards the thermal springs of Palea Kameni. The boat will pass by the green sulphur-stained warm waters with temperature that reach 37 degrees centigrade. From there you will continue your boat trip towards back to the yacht. On this land adventure we will visit one You have an incredible opportunity to visit one of the most important prehistoric settlements of the Aegean, Akrotiri Archaeological site and the picturesque village of Oia. Could Akrotiri really be the lost city of Atlantis?? One of the reasons Santorini has attracted the world’s attention is the excavation at Akrotiri, which reclaimed a whole prehistoric Minoan city from the volcanic ash. The prehistoric site of Akrotiri is in the south-western tip of the island and was discovered in 1967 by Professor Spyros Marinatos as it was buried by the widespread Theran eruption in the middle of the second millennium BC. The excavations brought into light a remarkably well-preserved site with two and three-story homes decorated with marvelous wall paintings and frescoes, an advanced drainage system and many interesting objects, artworks, potteries and furniture which give a picture of a society which was very well organized and at the peak of prosperity. This was interrupted suddenly by the eruption of the volcano, which buried the entire city. An ambitious modern bio-climatic roof top structure protects this important archaeological settlement where excavation works are still in progress.
