| Kavala | We dock in this picturesque harbor in Northern Greece, with its brightly coloured fishing caiques moored along the waterfront. Among the city's impressive landmarks are the old walls and the Byzantine castle towering above the harbour. Tours will visit Philippi, established by Macedonian king Philip II, father of Alexander the Great. |
| Skiathos | A green island with 65 beaches. The beach scenes in "Mama Mia" were filmed here. We anchor off the attractive Skiathos Town. |
| Kepez (Troy & Gallipoli) | Kepez is a seaside town in Canakkale Province, Turkey. From Kepez we offer a tour to the ruins of the ancient city of Troy. The movie, however, was filmed in Malta. |
| Thassos Island | The "Green Island of Greece", famous for it's clean beaches, tasty wine and snow white marble which it exports to the whole world. A popular holiday destination for Greeks, but little know outside Greece. We hope to arrange a beach party on Thassos. |
| Volos | Volos lies at the foot of Mt.Pelion with it's forests and traditional villages. We dock on the bustling waterfront. We will offer a tour to the monasteries of Meteoro which were features in the James Bond film "For Your Eyes Only". |
| Skopelos Islands - Scenic Navigation | Skopelos and Skiathos are part of the Sporades island group. Greener and less crowded than the Cyclades islands further south. The producers of the movie "Mama Mia" filmed the movie on these two islands. Weather permitting, we will sail by the headland with the wedding chapel shown in the movie. |
| Mount Athos - Scenic Navigation | We sail by the southern tip of Mount Athos, which has been a Greek Orthodox spiritual center since 1054. Monasteries and chapels cling to the steep mountainsides. |
| Athens (Piraeus) | Athens the capital and largest city of Greece, dominates the Attica periphery; as one of the world's oldest cities, its recorded history spans around 3,400 years. The heritage of the classical era is still evident in the city, represented by a number of ancient monuments and works of art, the most famous of all being the Parthenon. Athens – By Private Air Conditioned Mercedes Or Van
Would you like to follow your own ideas in Athens? In this case we would like to recommend the use of an air-
conditioned car or van
with your own driver.
Professional English speaking guides are also available at an additional cost (the drivers do not speak English).
- The Acropolis, naturally! Don't be tourist, race up the hill to visit the Parthenon and leave. Take the time to explore the entire lower section at the foot of the Acropolis as well. Linger in the surroundings of the hill and visit the Theatre of Herodes and the Theatre of Dionysus among other sites. It is worth your while and makes for a much more rewarding experience (allow no less than 90 minutes for a relaxing visit). Note: The small museum on top of the Acropolis is currently (2007) closed for renovation.
- A nice stop for photos of the Acropolis can be had from the nearby Pnyx Hill; this stop only takes a few minutes but the pictures will last forever.
- Once you have completed your visit of the Acropolis and surrounding area, a nice walk can be enjoyed if you exit the grounds of the Acropolis via the north entrance near the Stoa of Attalos, the Roman Agora and the Tower of the Winds. From there it is an enjoyable walk through the Old Athens (Plaka district) past Antique and souvenir stores as well as galleries, ending up at the city center and Syntagma Square where you can also find the Parliament building and the Grand Bretagne Hotels. Take your time during this walk; it can be done in a quick 45 minutes. But we are sure that you will want to linger so allow at least twice as much time; and once you are off the Acropolis hill, the entire rest of the walk is on mostly flat surfaces, unless you select to walk up some of the slopes in the Plaka.
- Mount Lycabettus for amazing views of the city
- "THE" famous National Archaeological Museum (how much time do you have? You can spend days in there). The museum is looking better than ever having been renovated for the 2004 Olympics.
- The Benaki Museum (varied and interesting, 60 minutes or more). The outdoor rooftop restaurant is popular with locals.
- The Museum of Cycladic Art, small but worth a visit (about 30-45 minutes). The small courtyard is a nice place to take a coffee break.
- The Lalaounis Jewelry Museum in Acropolis area
- "If you wish to explore the outskirts of the city as well, the drive along the coast to Cape Sounion is
highly recommended. The
setting of the Temple of Poseidon and the views across the Aegean Sea are spectacular.
NOTE: All of the above sites and museums are open on Sunday! - Should your visit fall on a Sunday, you may wish to stroll through the "Flea Market" in the Plaka district. There you will also find many shops, catering to visitors, open even on a Sunday.
- For lunch the choices are many. We would like to recommend restaurants with a local flavor such as one of the many restaurants located at Microlimano the charming fishing harbour half way between Piraeus and Athens. Or, one of the tavernas in the Plaka district of Athens.
- If you are planning dinner in Athens, our favorite is the rooftop restaurant at the beautiful Grand Bretagne Hotel in the centre of Athens (early reservations are essential). The night views of the Acropolis are simply stunning and the food is delicious; for a romantic dinner, it is hard to beat. The restaurant is also open for lunch (from 1:00 PM) but in our view, it can get a bit warm up there during the day.

Hotels And Pre/post Options
SeaDream's View: Once the private residence of a wealthy expatriate Greek, the Hotel Grande Bretagne is an architectural landmark and the historic Grande dame of the city. It was recently lavishly restored and converted to a palace hotel. We at SeaDream think it is one of Europe's finest hotels. We absolutely love its convenient location - the best in Athens, and within walking distance from the fashionable Kolonaki Square with exclusive shopping, entertainment, restaurants and cafes. Also within walking distance are important museums and the historic and picturesque old quarter of Plaka with taverns, open-air coffee shops, flea market and souvenir shops. The hotel offers 321 rooms but we recommend at least a deluxe room or one of the only 22 Junior Suites; so book early and ask for one that offers splendid views of the Acropolis, Parliament and National Gardens. We also enjoy the outdoor roof top pool and highly recommend dinner in the GB Roof Garden Restaurant. Why? You'll never forget the view, the delicious food and the mix of local and international guests that fill the restaurant nightly. Reserve early and enjoy. The Archeological Site Of Philippi
Visit Philippi site, the most important archaeological site of eastern Macedonia. From the pier you will meet your licensed guide and board your motorcoach for a 30 minute drive to Philippi which is the most important archaeological site of eastern Macedonia with characteristic monuments of the Hellenistic, Roman and Early Christian periods. The history of the site of Philippi begins in 360-359 B.C. when the colonists from Thasos founded the first city, called Krenides. In 356 B.C. the city was endangered by the Thacians and it turned to King Philip II for support. Philip had already foreseen the economic and strategic importance of the city, so he conquered it, he fortified it and he renamed it after himself (Philippi). After the battle of Philippi, in 42 B.C., the city became a Roman colony. A landmark in the history of Philippi was the year A.D 49 or 50, when Apostle Paul visited the city and established there the first Christian Church of Europe. This made Philippi a metropolis of Christianity. During the Byzantine period (A.D. 963-969) the walls of the city were reconstructed and at the same time the towers and the wall of the acropolis were built. The excavations on the site of Philippi began in 1914 by the French School of Archaeology at Athens. After the Second World War, excavations were resumed by the Greek Archaeological Service and the Archaeological Society. Nowadays, the archaeological exploitation of the site is carried out by the Archaeological Service, the Aristotelian University of Thessaloniki and the French School of Archaeology at Athens. Most of the monuments in the archaeological site of Philippi have been restored. A project for the restoration and the preservation of the ancient theatre is now in progress in the frame of the European program of 1994 "Historical monuments and places of spectacle". After your visit, re-board your motorcoach and drive back to the Kavala pier and your SEADREAM yacht.

Ancient Troy
This Yachting Land Adventure explores one of the most famous ancient sites in the world: legendary Troy. The name Troy refers both to the remains of a Bronze Age fortress at Hisarlik Hill near the entrance of the Dardanelles, and the legendary city of King Priam that was destroyed by Acheans in the Trojan War. The hill is associated with the sagas of the Trojan War and its description by Homer (750 BC) in his two epic poems "The Iliad" and "The Odyssey." Archaeological digs have revealed nine cities and various ruins of the city walls, typical house foundations, a temple and a theater. There is also a symbolic "Wooden Horse" near the site. Next to the entrance of the site you can see a small museum, where samples of the pottery work and finds from the east gate of Troy V, Temple of Athena, the Roman Theater and senate building are on display. After a short break outside of the Troy, you will drive back to the Archaeological Museum of Canakkale City. The archaeological museum houses many objects distributed in 5 different halls; Canakkale ceramics from 17th century to 20th centuries showing the city as one of the most important cities of ceramic production during the Ottoman Empire. View chest of drawers from the 19th century used in the oldest mansions of Canakkale indicating the best samples of wooden workmanship of the era, tomb steles from Kyzikos in Mysia and ancient towns of Troas region, many findings from Troy, arts discovered in Can and Yenice tumulus dating from Hellenistic period, findings from the ruins of Dardanos tumulus from 6th and 2nd centuries BC, and sculptural and architectural findings from Assos (Behramkale) and Gulpinar (Apollon Smintheion Holy Area). The Battlefields Of Galliopoli
On this adventure you have the opportunity to pay a visit to perhaps the most moving site in all of Turkey: Anzac Cove and the World War I battlefields of Gallipoli. We recommend that you make time and visit this hauntingly beautiful area where for more than nine months (1915-16) Allied and Turkish troops faced one another in one of the world's most tragic battles to gain control of this most important waterway " the Dardanelles. In order to enhance your visit and understanding of the events we are brining in some of the most knowledgeable guides all the way from Istanbul. Start your visit with anticipation as you cross from our pier on the Asian side to the European side of the Dardanelles by local ferry and come ashore where the ill-fated Allied landing was supposed to have been made. To honor the 500,000 soldiers who lost their lives at Gelibolu (Gallipoli), the peninsula was turned into the Gelibolu Historic National Park. The area includes memorial monuments, the Ariburnu Cliffs and Tuz Lake. The natural beauty of the green hills, sandy beaches and blue waters provides a fitting resting place to those who bravely fought and died in this historic battle of World War I. One of our favorite visits is to Chunuk Bair where you enjoy a special moment as you not only soak in the beautiful views of the peninsula but also look into the actual trenches where the soldiers watched out over the cliffs. Just close your eyes and try to image... Your fist visit will be the Kabatepe Military Museum, which contains relics from the campaign including original diary extracts and letters, then you will continue your visits with Ari Burnu Cemetery and North Beach on the Anzac Cove, the landing place of Australian & New Zealand army crops. Continue with a drive up to the Chunuk Bair, where you will visit the Lone Pine Australian Memorial and view the Johnston's Jolly on route. You will see the trenches & tunnels of the battlefields and the New Zealand Memorial Monument on the top of the Chunuk Bair, which was one of the two targets that planned to capture on attack where Turkish defenders and soldiers of New Zealand & Britain fought closely. You will also have a panoramic view to Suvla Bay where was a large and ideal location for the landing for additional troops during the war. Following this moving lesson of human history, re-board the local boat for the return to Kepez and SeaDream.

Thassos Walking Adventure
This SeaDream walking adventure will give you the opportunity to visit 3 of the most important sites of Thassos town walking around its small picturesque streets. Thasos is an attractive island with beautiful beaches and an ideal landscape. It is perfect for peaceful and relaxing holidays. Your land adventure of Thasos starts from Limenas, the capital of the island. After 10 minutes you will reach the Archaeological Museum of the island. It has been built near the ancient agora, on the small port, and displays various findings from Thasos such as potteries, statues & terracotta figurines. But the most impressive exhibit is the colossal kouros holding a ram offering from the Archaic era. Many other Artifacts date from the Classical, Hellenistic, and Roman era. Your next visit is the Ancient Agora; the Agora was the commercial and cultural center of the city where locals and foreigners met for business transactions and leisure. To the north of the agora you will see the ruins of the ancient temple of Dionysos that dates back to the 4th Century B. C. Following the visits at the Museum & Agora you will then walk 70 flat steps to the Ancient Theatre of Thassos. The Ancient Theatre is built inside a natural cavity in the hill and leaning against the wall according to Hippocrates it must have been built here as early as the 5th century B.C. A whole pillar and various other sections of the forestage are saved to this day. Those years the theatre was used for theatrical and musical performances. Later in the Roman era the orchestra pit and the edolia (rows of seats) were renovated. On several seats one can still see inscribed names, which indicates that people used to reserve their seats. At the end of your visit you will have free time to admire the great views of Thassos town before you start walking downhill to Thassos pier and your tender to SeaDream

The Spectacular Meteora Monasteries
Meteora is one of the most imposing sights in mainland Greece. Giant rocks in bizarre shapes, ranging in height from 100 to 150 meters. You leave the port of Volos to head Northwest crossing the agricultural plain of Thessaly. Passing provincial towns such as Larissa, Trikala and Kalambaka, you reach the extraordinary "monasteries in the air" of the Meteora. Does anyone remember the James Bond movie that was filmed at Meteora? You guessed it was For Your Eyes Only directed by John Glen and starred Roger Moore. Once a monastic community with 24 monasteries, Meteora now consists of only five active ones. They were first built in the 14th century by monks who searched for a place where they could be isolated and pray undisturbed from the rest of the world. Until 1920 most of the Meteora monasteries could only be reached by getting into a net and hauled up by a rope. Fortunately, steps were cut afterwards to all of the monasteries. You and your fellow SeaDream guests will visit the Varlaam monastery, one of the earliest and most beautiful in the valley, and the majestic Monastery of the Transfiguration (or else the Great Meteora), which is the highest of all. In both monasteries you can admire superb icons, unique mosaics and frescoes, old manuscripts, exceptional domed roofs as well as breathtaking views of the other monasteries and the surrounding area. After your visit to the monasteries, you will proceed to a local restaurant at the area of Kalambaka for lunch. After lunch and via the same road, passing Trikala and Larrisa, you return to the port of Volos and your SeaDream yacht.

Villages At The Home Of Centaurs–mount Pelion
Mount Pelion was the place where the ancient Greek gods and heroes were entertained. The home of the Centaurs according to Greek mythology. Once you visit its picturesque villages, 24 in total, you can easily understand why this place was chosen by the gods. The villages are spread out along the slopes, among chestnut and apple trees and gurgling crystal waters and most of the villages have remained untouched over the centuries and the architecture of their homes is unique. After a 30 minute drive from the Volos port you will arrive at the colorful, fertile village of Portaria with its stone houses built on the mountainside. After Portaria is the picturesque village of Makrinitsa, perhaps the most beautiful village in Pelion and one of the prettiest in Greece. You may stroll around the traditional houses, the old churches and the little shops with local delicacies. Afterwards you can rest and have a cup of coffee in the most impressive central square, under the shade of the plane trees. Apart from the view offered from here, which is majestic, you may also admire the frescoes painted by the famous painter Theophilos in one of the cafes in the square. Filled with unrivalled images you shall return to the port of Volos and your SeaDream yacht.
