| Athens (Piraeus) | Athens the capital and largest city of Greece, dominates the Attica periphery; as one of the world's oldest cities, its recorded history spans around 3,400 years. The heritage of the classical era is still evident in the city, represented by a number of ancient monuments and works of art, the most famous of all being the Parthenon. Athens is home to two UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the Acropolis of Athens and the medieval Daphni Monastery. |
| Santorini | Santorini also known as Thera is a volcanic island located in the southern Aegean Sea, about 200 km (120 mi) southeast from Greece's mainland. Santorini is essentially what remains of an enormous volcanic explosion, destroying the earliest settlements on what was formerly a single island, and leading to the creation of the current geological caldera. |

| Bodrum | Once a tiny fishing port, you'll see why it's become a vacation paradise; perfect climate, natural beauty, magnificent history and a bustling nightlife. |
| Hydra | There is one main town on Hydra, known simply as "Hydra port". It consists of a crescent-shaped harbor, around which is centered a strand of restaurants, shops, markets, and galleries that cater to tourists and locals (Hydriots). Steep stone streets lead up and outwards from the harbor area. The charm of Hydra town certainly lies in her rich history, beautiful port and waterfront unspoiled by motorized vehicles. The island offers a rugged charm and some spectacular scenes, and makes the perfect place for some self-exploration. |

Athens – By Private Air Conditioned Mercedes Or Van
Would you like to follow your own ideas in Athens? In this case we would like to recommend the use of an air-
conditioned car or van
with your own driver.
Professional English speaking guides are also available at an additional cost (the drivers do not speak English).
- The Acropolis, naturally! Don't be tourist, race up the hill to visit the Parthenon and leave. Take the time to explore the entire lower section at the foot of the Acropolis as well. Linger in the surroundings of the hill and visit the Theatre of Herodes and the Theatre of Dionysus among other sites. It is worth your while and makes for a much more rewarding experience (allow no less than 90 minutes for a relaxing visit). Note: The small museum on top of the Acropolis is currently (2007) closed for renovation.
- A nice stop for photos of the Acropolis can be had from the nearby Pnyx Hill; this stop only takes a few minutes but the pictures will last forever.
- Once you have completed your visit of the Acropolis and surrounding area, a nice walk can be enjoyed if you exit the grounds of the Acropolis via the north entrance near the Stoa of Attalos, the Roman Agora and the Tower of the Winds. From there it is an enjoyable walk through the Old Athens (Plaka district) past Antique and souvenir stores as well as galleries, ending up at the city center and Syntagma Square where you can also find the Parliament building and the Grand Bretagne Hotels. Take your time during this walk; it can be done in a quick 45 minutes. But we are sure that you will want to linger so allow at least twice as much time; and once you are off the Acropolis hill, the entire rest of the walk is on mostly flat surfaces, unless you select to walk up some of the slopes in the Plaka.
- Mount Lycabettus for amazing views of the city
- "THE" famous National Archaeological Museum (how much time do you have? You can spend days in there). The museum is looking better than ever having been renovated for the 2004 Olympics.
- The Benaki Museum (varied and interesting, 60 minutes or more). The outdoor rooftop restaurant is popular with locals.
- The Museum of Cycladic Art, small but worth a visit (about 30-45 minutes). The small courtyard is a nice place to take a coffee break.
- The Lalaounis Jewelry Museum in Acropolis area
- "If you wish to explore the outskirts of the city as well, the drive along the coast to Cape Sounion is
highly recommended. The
setting of the Temple of Poseidon and the views across the Aegean Sea are spectacular.
NOTE: All of the above sites and museums are open on Sunday! - Should your visit fall on a Sunday, you may wish to stroll through the "Flea Market" in the Plaka district. There you will also find many shops, catering to visitors, open even on a Sunday.
- For lunch the choices are many. We would like to recommend restaurants with a local flavor such as one of the many restaurants located at Microlimano the charming fishing harbour half way between Piraeus and Athens. Or, one of the tavernas in the Plaka district of Athens.
- If you are planning dinner in Athens, our favorite is the rooftop restaurant at the beautiful Grand Bretagne Hotel in the centre of Athens (early reservations are essential). The night views of the Acropolis are simply stunning and the food is delicious; for a romantic dinner, it is hard to beat. The restaurant is also open for lunch (from 1:00 PM) but in our view, it can get a bit warm up there during the day.

Hotels And Pre And Post Options
SeaDream's View: Once the private residence of a wealthy expatriate Greek, the Hotel Grande Bretagne is an architectural landmark and the historic Grande dame of the city. It was recently lavishly restored and converted to a palace hotel. We at SeaDream think it is one of Europe's finest hotels. We absolutely love its convenient location - the best in Athens, and within walking distance from the fashionable Kolonaki Square with exclusive shopping, entertainment, restaurants and cafes. Also within walking distance are important museums and the historic and picturesque old quarter of Plaka with taverns, open-air coffee shops, flea market and souvenir shops. The hotel offers 321 rooms but we recommend at least a deluxe room or one of the only 22 Junior Suites; so book early and ask for one that offers splendid views of the Acropolis, Parliament and National Gardens. We also enjoy the outdoor roof top pool and highly recommend dinner in the GB Roof Garden Restaurant. Why? You'll never forget the view, the delicious food and the mix of local and international guests that fill the restaurant nightly. Reserve early and enjoy. Don't forget to visit their web site for more information and photos. Beyond Bodrum - Explore The Peninsula
This tour gives us the opportunity to see what lies beyond the Bodrum town limits. Our local guide takes us on a tour of discovery around the Bodrum peninsula. We begin with a drive through the summer holiday town of Bodrum and continue to the highest point on the peninsula to view the historical windmills (no, you are not in Mykonos!). This is a good stop for your guide to provide us with some historical information on Bodrum. This is also a "Kodak" moment ....looking down on SeaDream and the Bodrum Port. Our next stop is at the historical Myndos gateway where Alexander the Great entered into Ancient Hallicarnassus in 334BC. We continue our journey through the village of Ortakent where we will make a brief stop at the Ortakent traditional Turkish Public Market. Continue through local olive orchards and enjoy a beautiful view of the Bodrum Bay. Ahead lies the village of GUmUsluk, whose name is derived from the Turkish word "GUmUs," meaning silver. Refreshments of Turkish pastry with cheese are served in a local authentic fish restaurant at GUmUsluk, where strict building conditions have maintained the seafront's original fishing village charm. Ponder the fact that your feet are on historical ground, as you stand at the harbor front of ancient Myndos. At low tide, one can literally walk to a small island situated to the right of the cove. The tour concludes with a scenic return drive to Bodrum and the ship.
Notes Please Note: Comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Bring along a hat and sunscreen, as temperatures can be high. A minimum participation is required to operate all Yachting Land Adventures and some have limited capacity. Knight's Castle & Halicarnassus Remains
We hope you join us on this walk through history. We start out with a visit to the Bodrum Castle, which towers over the town. Built by the Order of the Knights of St.John, construction was commenced in 1402. It is a splendid example of medieval western military architecture. It has a massive conglomeration of courtyards, turrets, galleries and sunken gardens. Today, it also houses the Museum of Underwater Archeology. This museum, the most important of its kind in the world, contains treasures from a series of historic wrecks discovered along Turkey's southern shores, including the world's oldest known shipwreck, a 14th century B.C. vessel. Also on display in the castle's Gothic Chapel is a full-scale reconstruction of part of an Eastern Roman wreck from the 7th century A.D. We will then visit the Carian Princess exhibit which evokes the last days of the ancient greatness of Halicarnassus, the capital city of Caria and the site on which today's Bodrum stands. It is a reminder of the dynasty that ruled Caria until the city fell to the Macedonian armies of Alexander the Great in 334 BC., a disaster from which it never recovered. Taking the impressions from this exhibit with us, we will stroll through the town with whitewashed houses to the Ancient Mausoleum, which is Bodrum's oldest antiquity and one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Built by Queen Artemisia II in honor of her husband King Mausolos, the entire structure originally stood over 150 feet tall. The term for a large tomb is derived from the King's name. Little remains of the mausoleum after the Knights had helped themselves to building materials for their castle, however our guide will bring it to life for us. After our visit through the ruins you can choose to walk back to the pier or join a shuttle bus back to the pier and board SeaDream.
Notes This is a walking tour involving many steps which have been worn smooth with time and can therefore be slippery. Wear comfortable, rubber-soled shoes. The walk between Bodrum Castle and the Mausoleum takes approx 15 mins. A minimum participation is required to operate all Yachting Land Adventures and some have limited capacity. All adventures and prices in the SeaDream Yachting Land Adventures program are subject to change. Final tour details will be announced onboard.

Boat & Hike The Caldera Islands
If you have been to Santorini before, you have admired the view of the volcanic caldera from high up on the cliffs of the whitewashed villages of Fira or Oia. You may, then, have wondered about the two islands in the center of the caldera. These are the two small uninhabited volcanic islands called Nea ("New") Kameni and Palea ("Old") Kameni. On this land adventure you will have the opportunity of visiting these islands. A local caique will take you from ship's side for a 15-minute boat trip up to Nea Kameni. The sail will take you along the volcanic shores with the peculiar rock formations. The black volcanic rocks contrast wildly with the white pumice, offering impressive views. After disembarking the caique, a 30 minute hike will take you to the crater of the still active volcano. During your walk up on an ascending path you will have the opportunity to observe lava fragments and the volcanic rock formations. Once you have reached the crater you will have time to relax and enjoy the view of Santorini Island and the amazing cliff-walls of the caldera. Descenting back to the caique, you leave the volcanic island and sail towards the thermal springs of Palea Kameni. The boat will pass by the green sulphur-stained warm waters with temperature that reach 37 degrees centigrade. From there you will continue your boat trip towards back to the yacht. Please note: There is no shade on the volcano and you should wear appropriate sun protection. Good walking shoes are required and you should consider the nature of this tour when booking.

Akrotiri - The "real" Atlantis? And Oia
On this land adventure we will visit one You have an incredible opportunity to visit one of the most important prehistoric settlements of the Aegean, Akrotiri Archaeological site and the picturesque village of Oia. Could Akrotiri really be the lost city of Atlantis?? One of the reasons Santorini has attracted the world’s attention is the excavation at Akrotiri, which reclaimed a whole prehistoric Minoan city from the volcanic ash. The prehistoric site of Akrotiri is in the south-western tip of the island and was discovered in 1967 by Professor Spyros Marinatos as it was buried by the widespread Theran eruption in the middle of the second millennium BC. The excavations brought into light a remarkably well-preserved site with two and three-story homes decorated with marvelous wall paintings and frescoes, an advanced drainage system and many interesting objects, artworks, potteries and furniture which give a picture of a society which was very well organized and at the peak of prosperity. This was interrupted suddenly by the eruption of the volcano, which buried the entire city. An ambitious modern bio-climatic roof top structure protects this important archaeological settlement where excavation works are still in progress. Your SeaDream Land Adventure continues crossing the entire island and after a 30 minute drive you will reach the northeast part of the island and its most picturesque town, Oia. Once a major fishing harbor it is now the calmest place on the island. Built high up on the ridge of red rocks it offers breathtaking views of the blue Aegean. You leave your coaches for a stroll around the narrow streets with the old beautiful houses and the tiny picturesque shops. Enjoy the breathtaking views of the caldera cliff and wander in the narrow streets for shopping or a cup of coffee during your free time in the village. Returning to Fira town you can either take the cable car down to the port or wander around the narrow streets with the various shops and take a later cable car. For those SeaDream Active guests, you can also walk down the path back to Skala Fira (port). Now that the site has re-opened, we highly recommend you join us on this wonderful land adventure.
