|Athens (Piraeus)||Athens the capital and largest city of Greece, dominates the Attica periphery; as one of the world's oldest cities, its recorded history spans around 3,400 years. The heritage of the classical era is still evident in the city, represented by a number of ancient monuments and works of art, the most famous of all being the Parthenon. Athens is home to two UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the Acropolis of Athens and the medieval Daphni Monastery.|
|Port Said, Egypt||Bur Said (Port Said), 135 mi/218 km northeast of Cairo, marks the northern terminus for the busy Suez Canal. Maritime gateway between Europe and Asia, it a bustling port town with a lot of marine traffic. Powerful, but not invincible, it was damaged during the war of June 1967 – the canal was closed and the city was all but abandoned for a time. The Egyptian government has redeveloped the port as a beach resort, and there are plenty of colorful summer homes along the beach.|

|Mumbai (Bombay)||Built across a series of seven islands (Colaba, Mazagaon, Old Woman's Island, Wadala, Mahim, Parel, and Matunga-Sion) that now form the city's main districts, Mumbai is the glamour capital of India. The early residents were Koli fishermen and the community was part of the Ashoka Kingdom. An extended land reclamation program eventually linked the archipelago into a peninsula. The region passed through the hands of several Hindi rulers until 1343, when Gujerat Muslims took possession. They ruled for two centuries until Portuguese forces invaded, but only their Mahim Mosque remains. The SeaDream Land Adventure to Elephanta Island departs from the iconic gateway of India. If you are shopping-deprived, join us on a market excursion to explore Mumbai at its colorful best.|
|Rhodes Town||The Old City of Rhodes, a World Heritage Site, is, after the Acropolis of Athens and the Volcano of Santorini, one of the most impressive place in Greece. To wander through the medieval city, especially on a warm evening, is one of life's treasures. The old city is closed to most traffic. The main streets and thoroughfares are full of shops and restaurants but the back streets are mostly residences. The massive walls of the city were rebuilt by the European order of Knights Hospitaller after the Turkish seige of 1480. The walls are 12 meters thick and the moat more than 21 meters wide. The length of the walls is about three miles and each section was defended by one of the Langues or tongues which corresponded to the languages spoken where the particular group of knights came from.|

SeaDream's View: Once the private residence of a wealthy expatriate Greek, the Hotel Grande Bretagne is an architectural landmark and the historic Grande dame of the city. It was recently lavishly restored and converted to a palace hotel. We at SeaDream think it is one of Europe's finest hotels. We absolutely love its convenient location - the best in Athens, and within walking distance from the fashionable Kolonaki Square with exclusive shopping, entertainment, restaurants and cafes. Also within walking distance are important museums and the historic and picturesque old quarter of Plaka with taverns, open-air coffee shops, flea market and souvenir shops. The hotel offers 321 rooms but we recommend at least a deluxe room or one of the only 22 Junior Suites; so book early and ask for one that offers splendid views of the Acropolis, Parliament and National Gardens. We also enjoy the outdoor roof top pool and highly recommend dinner in the GB Roof Garden Restaurant. Why? You'll never forget the view, the delicious food and the mix of local and international guests that fill the restaurant nightly. Reserve early and enjoy. This SeaDream Land Adventure provides our guests in transit with a good panoramic overview of this iconic city. You will depart from the pier towards Marine Drive, Mumbai's seaside promenade, to see its shops, restaurants, bars and throngs of people. At the northern end of Marine Drive, you will find popular Chowpatty Beach. Your next stop is at ISKCON; the amazing temple of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness. The god Krishna often portrayed in blue and playing a flute has a mischievous nature and his peasant background and legendry exploits with the milkmaids have made him of the most popular gods. Krishna devotees believe the material body is subjected to birth, old age, disease and death, whereas the spirit soul is by nature eternal, full of knowledge and bliss. We witness the prayer chanting offered for the welfare of humanity in this stunning temple. We then continue towards the western shores to Malabar Hill, Mumbai's most exclusive neighborhood. Popular since the 18th century due to its forested slopes, fresh sea breezes and panoramic views, Malabar's hillsides are filled with picturesque mansions and bungalows built by merchants and Colonial governors. Today, luxury high-rise apartments also dot the landscape. From here, you will proceed past Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus earlier known as Victoria Terminus, a remarkable railway station highlighted by domes, spires, Corinthian columns and minarets. India's first train departed this station in April 1853; today, half a million commuters use the station each day Our drive then continues to the Gateway of India for a photo stop. This Indo-Saracenic archway was built in 1911 to commemorate the visit of King George V and Queen Mary, and is the city's most famous landmark Our tour concludes with a visit to the world-renowned Taj Mahal Palace & Tower Hotel, a favorite of diplomats, sheiks and Mumbai's jet set. It was recently rated among the ten best hotels in the world. Upon arrival, we can relax with a cold drink before re-boarding our coach for the return drive to the pier and your SeaDream yacht.
Notes Note: Proper attire is required to visit the sacred sites. Shorts and short skirts are not allowed. Women must have their shoulders covered. Shoes must be removed prior to entering the temples. The Old Town of Rhodes, behind it's impressive walls and moats, is one of the most important medieval sites in Europe. The crusader Order of St John of Jerusalem occupied Rhodes from 1309 after being ejected from their stronghold at Acre in what is now Israel. They proceeded to transform the island capital into a fortified city able to withstand terrible Muslim sieges in 1444 and 1480 before finally falling in 1523 after a six-month siege carried out by Suleyman II, heading forces reportedly numbering 100,000 men. Our walking tour will take us in to medieval Rhodes, walking the narrow cobblestone streets and visiting the most impressive Palace of the Grand Masters. Departing from the pier on foot with our guide, we will walk the short distance to the city walls and pass through the Gate of Navarhou to the narrow, cobblestone streets within. The medieval city is located within walls that are 4 km long. The most imposing building of medieval Rhodes, the Palace of the Grand Masters, dominates the end of the Street of the Knights. Built in the 14th century, it will astonish you with its unique architecture and an unrivalled patina of time. Walking down the Street of the Knights and passing by numerous colorful shops, we can admire the 15th-century Hospital of the Knights, which now houses the Archaeological Museum. At the end of the walking tour you may choose to browse on your own a little longer before returning to the yacht on foot.

In ancient times, Lindos was the main center on Rhodes. Homer tells us that it was established by the Dorians in the 12th century BC and that the city was large and powerful enough to send nine ships to the Trojan War. Towering above the village of Lindos is the ancient Acropolis. A 13th century Crusader fortress now crowns the hill, but within it's walls lie archaeological sites that date back to the 6th century BC. On our 35-mile drive to Lindos, we will pass villages, vineyards and olive groves while our guide introduces us to the history and culture of the island. On arrival at Lindos we will be escorted through the village of Lindos and up to the ancient Acropolis of Lindos, entering through the castle gates. The climb to the Acropolis is steep but you will be rewarded with impressive views of the village, the sea and the small fishing harbour of Psarto, where legend has it St. Paul landed to bring Christianity to the region. The remnants of the Temple of the Lindian Athena, enclosed within the walls of the castle are said to have been built by the tyrant Cleobulos in the 6th century BC and are remarkably well preserved with colonnades flanking both sides of the temple. On our return to the village you will have time to explore on your own before boarding the coach for our return to Rhodes Town.
