Your SeaDream Land Adventure will take your for a fascinating walk in one of the most charming places in Bulgaria – the Byzantine town of Nessebar. After your walk, we will visit the traditional Bulgarian village of Orizare, sample local treats and watch a lovely folkloric show. Situated on a picturesque rocky peninsula the museum-town of Nessebar possesses an atmosphere one cannot find anywhere else on the coast. The town has been included in UNESCO World Heritage List. Over 40 churches and basilicas from the Byzantine Empire are scattered all over the town within the remains of the medieval fortress walls. Your guide will take us for a charming walk along the winding cobbled streets between centuries-old houses with brief stops and explanations about some of the most beautiful churches in the town. You will be able to admire the architecture and the exterior decoration of the churches of John Aliturgetos, Christ Pantocrator, John the Baptist, Archangels Michael and Gabriel, St. Petka and the Old Metropolitan Church. Step inside St. Stephan’s Church, known as the New Metropolitan Church, and stand in admiration in front of the frescoes, some as old as the 11th century. After your walk we will take a 30-minute drive to the village of Orizare, and visit an authentic ethnographic complex – a guardian of the Bulgarian traditions. Behind stone walls and heavy gates, you will find a charming complex exhibiting the lifestyle and traditions of the Bulgarian family from the past century. We are invited to step inside a small whitewashed house for a glimpse into domestic interior decoration. View the old fireplace with low round table and 3-legged chairs in the kitchen, the wooden loom, used for the making of the rugs and clothing displayed. Back in the garden, an old watermill wheel is still turning after more than a century of operation. The Bulgarian Christian tradition is embedded in a private chapel with beautiful wood carved iconostasis and colorful murals. Discover the highlights and rich cultural heritage of Odessa, which for centuries has been an inspiration to artists, poets, writers and musicians on this comprehensive “special interest” land adventure. From the port of Odessa, your motor coach takes you to Prymorsky Boulevard. You and your fellow SeaDream guests will have an opportunity to take pictures of the new Monument to Catherine the Great. Walk to the statue of the Duke de Richelieu in a Roman Toga and learn about the foundation of Odessa and the history of the famous Potemkin Steps (193 steps) built between 1837 & 1841. Then walk along the Prymorsky Boulevard which architectural beauty lies in the early 19th century buildings, the shady promenade and the park tumbling towards the sea. At the eastern part there is situated a Pushkin statue & a British Tiger Gun, captured in 1854 during the Crimean campaign in front of the colonnaded Odessa City Hall. Several dozen meters from the Archaeological Museum is the impressive building of the world-known Opera & Ballet Theater designed by Viennese architects Felner & Gelmer in the 1880s. This incredible building was constructed in the Habsburg Baroque style of the day, with a number of Italian Renaissance features. Please remember to bring your cameras so you can take pictures of the exterior of this unique and recently restored Opera House. We have arranged a special guided visit of the interior of the opera house as well – enjoy it! From the theatre your next stop will be at the City Garden where you will have a refreshment served in a local restaurant. You will then continue your land adventure to visit the biggest church of Odessa – Preobrazhensky (Transfiguration) Cathedral via Deribasovskaya Street - the heart of Odessa, home to Odessa humor, and a street, keeping the special Odessa atmosphere. En-route you will visit Passage. Enter the recently restored cathedral and learn its history. After your interior visit, you will have some free time for local purchases. Continue to the Palace of Count Pototsky, housing the Odessa Fine Arts Museum. This SeaDream Land Adventure will take you and your fellow SeaDreamers outside the city and give you an interesting perspective on Odessa’s war history. You will visit the labyrinth of catacombs and the Museum of Partisan Glory located in Nerubaiskoye village. Odessa catacombs were formed when the foundations of the city was laid. The sandstone was quarried out resulting in an intricate labyrinth of underground corridors. In total they run for over 2,500 miles under Odessa and its surroundings. During their history, they have provided refuge for smugglers, revolutionaries and partisans. They served their key role during 2.5 year-long German occupation of the city in World War II when they became a command post of the resistance. The network of tunnels you will visit in Nerubaiskoye village are about 500 yards long and have been turned into the Museum of Partisan Glory. Beginning from the pier, your drive will take you into the countryside past small farms, orchards and vineyards to the village of Nerubaiskoye originally built as the Cossack fortress. On arrival you will have a guided visit and will see the restored resistance headquarters, workshops, hospital, kitchen, and other facilities used by the partisans. Outside again, you will visit the museum, founded in the post-war years to commemorate the heroic deeds of the partisans and city defenders. It displays pictures of the partisans, and many artefacts from the time of city occupation. After visiting the museum you will have the opportunity to enjoy Ukrainian and Russian songs accompanied by a shot of vodka. On completion of the land adventure, we return to the pier and your SeaDream yacht.

You start with a short walk to the Grafskaya Quay and board your local boat for an adventure along the harbors of Sevastopol to see the Navy battleships before the visit to the brand new museum of Sevastopol. 'Heroic Sevastopol' - is the name of the first thematic exhibition of the Ukraine's Naval Museum that was recently opened on the north side of Sevastopol within the premises of a unique historical building - the Mikhailovsky coastal casemated battery which was erected in 1843-1845. The joint project of Ukraine's National Military History Museum and Sheremetiev's Museum, the outstanding exhibition offers an unprecedented range of historical events and displays an impressive number of original exhibits. Once you set your foot in the Museum, you can't help plunging into the atmosphere of bygone days. The Mikhailovsky battery served as a defensive stronghold during the Crimean war and survived the stormy and tempestuous times of revolutions, civil wars and Sevastopol's second defense. It feels like the very walls in the Museum could start talking to tell you tragic and heroic tales of the Past. The Museum halls comprise former artillery casemates built under the reign of Nikolas I and lately carefully restored. One casemate boasts the powerful garrison gun the so called two-stone 'unicorn' on a high gun carriage with a rotating frame, thoroughly reproduced according to the drawings of the 19th century. Precisely the same gun was placed on this very spot 160 years ago. The replicated heating furnaces of the mid-19th century are situated alongside the whole suite. Sevastopol's heroic history dating from the City foundation up to now is splendidly mirrored in original lithographs and photos, paintings, arms and weapons, uniforms, awards, documents and many other exhibits presented in 23 halls of the Museum. A set of installations reproduces historical events that took place in the battery within the 19th and 20th centuries, whereas audio and video clips serve to enhance the impression. Visiting the 'Heroic Sevastopol' exhibition helps us see, feel and grasp more than 200 years of Sevastopol heroic military history. After the Mikhailovsky Battery visit have a boat ride back to Grafskaya Quay to come back to your SeaDream Yacht.

In the period of the Crimean War of 1853-1856 during the siege of Sevastopol, Balaklava was the base of the British Army. The British army approached Balaclava harbor, and captured it without bloodshed on the 26th of September 1854. The British took Balaclava as their supply base and left it in 1856. The unique S-shaped harbor was an ideal shelter for ships. Having fortified it with the double row of redoubts and artillery batteries, the British built in the town an embankment, hotels, and even the first in the Crimea railway that connected their base with the front-line positions near Sevastopol. Nevertheless, it was under Balaclava that the British lost much of their fleet in storm. Another important landmark of this place is the underground submarine repair plant, which made Balaclava, until the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, one of the most secret towns in Russia. Straight out of a James Bond Movie, the Base was one kilometer inside the surrounding hillside, through a cannel system running from a sea opening to the harbor on the other side. Inside was an underground base complete with dry dock and room inside for up to 10 Submarines which could carry nuclear missiles, weapons and staff. It is claimed that the base could take a direct hit from a nuclear weapon and still remain operational, with its large two stage blast doors. Almost the entire population of Balaclava at the time worked at the Base, even family members could not visit the town of Balaklava without good reason and identification. Today you can take a guided land adventure to see this unique construction inside. After your visit to the museum, drive to a local restaurant for refreshments. After your refreshment stop, you will have a nice walk along the sea-front and learn more about this harbor. The subsequent history of Balaklava is closely linked to the Genoese. Towering on the Eastern Cape that overshadows the entrance to the bay are the majestic remains of their fortress Cembalo which you will be able to see under good weather conditions. Next you and your fellow SeaDream guests will take a panoramic drive to the Sapoune Ridge. Upon arrival you will walk to the observation platform located in the area from which Commander-in-Chief of the British Army, Lord Raglan, watched the vainglorious disaster unfold before him during the Balaklava Battle of Crimean War on the 25th of October, 1854. Known as the Charge of Light Brigade, immortalized by Tennison, it can be clearly imagined and understood from the observation platform on the ridge. The same place is the memorial to the Great Patriotic War (the World War II). There are exposed weapons, cannons, automobiles, shells, artillery, used during the battles in Sevastopol, near the observation platform outdoor. Your guide will tell you the history of this place and you will have some free time for photos. Return to your coach to drive back to Sevastopol port.

Starting from the dock, located close to the city center, we will walk to visit the first part of our tour. We come first to the large Nakhimov square with it's monument to the Crimean War admiral and hero. From there we cross Primorsky Park and walk along the seaside promenade to see the famous Monument to Scuttled Ships out in the waters of the bay, which has become the symbol of Sevastopol. From here we board our coach to visit the ancient Greek city of Chersonesus, founded in 422BC. Many ancient civilizations have left their mark in this area. We will be guided through the ruins of the ancient town to explore the remains of the antique theater which is unique in the Ukraine, an area of defensive walls, the network of the old streets, elegant basilica columns made of Proconess marble and fragments of intricate mosaics "evidences of the culture and art that flourished here thousands of years ago. This place played an important role in both Crimean and Russian history. It was here that Prince Vladimir was christened in 988AD, founding the Russian Orthodox Church. We conclude our walk with a visit to the majestic Cathedral in Commemoration of St. Vladimir's Christening built by Emperor Alexander II, and recently restored to it's former glory. After our exploration of the Chersonesus we drive to our next highlight, the Panorama Museum. Panorama is an historical museum, which was opened in 1905 on the 50-th anniversary of the defense of Sevastopol in the Crimean War. The museum houses a magnificent (115 meters long, 14 meters high) 360 degree canvas by the famous Russian battle artist F. Roubaud, and is the best example of the national art of panoramic painting. The picture depicts the first main assault of Sevastopol on the 18th of June 1855. The circular canvas merges into the 900 sq. m. relief model. We stand on the observation platform in the middle of the hall, as if we are at the top of Malakhov Hill during one of the fiercest and decisive battles of the Crimean war. After our visit to the Panorama we will have some free time to browse the souvenirs stalls next to the museum. Here your tour comes to an end and we return to dockside.

The Danube Delta is perhaps the least inhabited region of temperate Europe with a population density of about 3 inhabitants per square mile. Little Sulina with its 4,600 inhabitants is the local metropolis and we will take a short walking tour of the town. The Lighthouse is the famous historical monument of the area, however, it is now far from the sea. At the end of the walking tour we will visit Saint Nicholas Orthodox Church and learn a little of this predominant religion in Romania. Your Land Adventure by boat in the Danube Delta begins from the pier at Sulina. Along small canals, you can admire the wildness and the unique fauna of the Delta. The Danube Delta is the youngest land in Europe (it grows larger by 40 yards of land every year). A low alluvial plain, mostly covered by wetlands and water, it consists of an intricate pattern of marshes, channels, streamlets and lakes. The average altitude is 0.52 m, with 20% of the territory below sea level. The sand dunes on the coast are the highest point of the delta. It is one of the largest and most compact reed areas in the world (almost 1,000 square miles), a place with the richest ornithological fauna in the world (over 250 species), a combination of natural and man-made ecosystems. Also in the delta there are islands of old forests with subtropical species of vegetation rare for this part of the world. In this natural paradise you can see a large variety of bird species, such as pelicans, heron, swan, and wild duck. The fauna of this water is very rich in fish like carp, plaice, codfish, perch, pike, and sander. A snack will be served onboard the excursion boat. We will sail through the secondary canals on the way back to the city of Sulina and your SeaDream Yacht.

Your incredible SeaDream Land Adventure will start with a short drive to the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral – Yalta’s central Russian Orthodox Church, built in the neo Byzantine style by Tsar Alexander III in memory of his father. The gold domes are newly restored and the façade of the cathedral is remarkable for the mosaic picture of the ancient Russian Prince Alexander Nevsky – a Russian saint. We will also see the interiors of the cathedral. A further drive along the picturesque coast takes you to the Livadia Palace stopping at an observation platform along the way for a photo stop of the Swallow’s Nest castle, perched on its cliff-top. Livadia Palace is the summer residence of the last Russian Tsar – Nicholas II and the venue of the allied powers Yalta Conference in 1945. Built in Italian Renaissance style in 1911 for the imperial family, the White Palace is surrounded by a vast garden overlooking the sea. You will visit the restored White Hall where the historic meeting between Roosevelt, Stalin and Churchill was held. President Roosevelt was already very ill at this time and he was quartered in rooms adjacent to the White Hall. He died just two months later in Warm Springs, Georgia. Take a moment to look at the Palace's attractive interior courtyards. You then visit the Tsar family’s private apartments on the first floor of the palace including the study of Nicholas II, the rooms of the Tsarina, the dining room and the children’s classroom. The exposition includes numerous photos of the imperial family, documents and original furniture. The display is very poignant when one considers the horrible fate of the family. You and your fellow SeaDreamers will also visit a wax figure display which includes those who have set their mark on the Livadia Palace. This includes the Big Three from the Yalta Conference (Stalin, Roosevelt and Churchill), the Imperial Family and the monk Grigory Rasputin. Here you are certain to enjoy a cup of refreshing tea supplemented with pie and honey and accompanied by a short folkloric performance. There will be some free time to browse the shopping gallery in the palace before starting your drive back to Yalta and SeaDream

On arrival, disembark your coach and walk past the famous palace, also known as the "White Palace," and residence of Nicholas II, on the way to the adjacent Von Frederiks' Palace. The Tsars built this palace right next to his own, as a residence for his minister and advisor, Baron Frederiks. At Frederiks' Palace, the Tsar's Cuisine restaurant welcomes you to enjoy specialties made from recipes handed down by the cooks of the Imperial family, accompanied by the best of local Russian vodka. This relaxing tour takes us to the unique Massandra Winery the home of the Crimean wines, nestled on the green slopes of the mountains surrounding Yalta. The winery is the creation of Prince Leo Golitsin, the father of the Russian winemaking, who supplied wines to the House of Romanov. This unique place boasts the biggest wine collection in the world, comprising one million bottles of wine from different countries. Massandra winery is especially proud of it's 1775 Spanish Sherry that still preserves its unique qualities, despite the venerable age. The refined wines of Massandra are internationally recognized and have been awarded two Grand Prix Cups and 148 gold and silver medals. Constructed in 1894, the exterior of the winery reminds one of a French chateau. However, behind the scenes, cellars and tunnels go deep down into the granite hillsides where wine is aging in oak casks and vats. During the tour of the cellars, a wine expert will introduce the history of the winery to you and acquaint you with the winemaking process. At the wine tasking hall we will be invited to taste several samples of Massandra wines including port, sherry and sweet wines.
