Port Name Description
Athens (Piraeus) Athens the capital and largest city of Greece, dominates the Attica periphery; as one of the world's oldest cities, its recorded history spans around 3,400 years. The heritage of the classical era is still evident in the city, represented by a number of ancient monuments and works of art, the most famous of all being the Parthenon. Athens is home to two UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the Acropolis of Athens and the medieval Daphni Monastery.
Hydra There is one main town on Hydra, known simply as "Hydra port". It consists of a crescent-shaped harbor, around which is centered a strand of restaurants, shops, markets, and galleries that cater to tourists and locals (Hydriots). Steep stone streets lead up and outwards from the harbor area. The charm of Hydra town certainly lies in her rich history, beautiful port and waterfront unspoiled by motorized vehicles. The island offers a rugged charm and some spectacular scenes, and makes the perfect place for some self-exploration.
Galaxidi (Delphi)
Fiskardo, Kefalonia Fiscardo, is a village located about 54 km north of Argostoli and a district of the city of Erisos. The coast around Fiskardo is mainly rocky with numerous pebble-beached coves. There are numerous viewpoints in the area around the village that offer panoramic views of the Ionian Sea including Daskalio island, Ithaca, northwestern Aetolia-Acarnania and the island of Lefkada.
Taormina (Etna) Sicily
Amalfi Amalfi is a town and comune in the province of Salerno, in the region of Campania, Italy. Amalfi occupied a high position in medieval architecture; its cathedral of Sant'Andrea (St. Andrew, 11th century), the campanile, the convent of the Cappuccini, founded by the Amalfitan Cardinal Pietro Capuano, richly represent the artistic movement prevailing in Southern Italy at the time of the Normans, with its tendency to blend the Byzantine style with the forms and sharp lines of the northern architecture.
Capri Capri is an Italian island in the Tyrrhenian Sea off the Sorrentine Peninsula, on the south side of the Gulf of Naples, in the Campania region of Southern Italy. Features of the island are the Marina Piccola (the little harbour), the Belvedere of Tragara, which is a high panoramic promenade lined with villas, the limestone crags called sea stacks that project above the sea (the Faraglioni), Anacapri, the Blue Grotto (Grotta Azzurra), and the ruins of the Imperial Roman villas.
Civitavecchia (Rome) The city of Rome is located in the central-western portion of the Italian Peninsula, on the Tiber River within the Lazio region of Italy. Rome's history spans over two and a half thousand years. In 2007 Rome was the 11th-most-visited city in the world. Its historic centre is listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Monuments and museums such as the Vatican Museums and the Colosseum are amongst the world's 50 most visited tourist destinations. Fascinating Pompei, With A "whisper"

SeaDream is pleased to advice you that in order to enhance your visit to this incredible site, your local guide will speak to you directly through the use of an audio head set, referred to as a "whisper". It will allow you to listen to the wonderful detailed commentary of our excellent guides without straining to hear your guide over other visitors and noises. We hope you will take advantage of this technology and join us on this unforgettable visit. From the SeaDream quay in Amalfi, travel along the panoramic coastline and peninsula roads to the remarkably well preserved ruins of Pompeii. Originally settled by indigenous people before the 8th century BC, and later ruled by Etruscans, Greeks, and Samnites, Pompeii became a thriving commercial center under Roman rule. It was a city full of shops, markets and town houses, with paved streets, wide sidewalks, a stadium, two theaters, temples and baths. Then, shortly after noon on August 24 in 79AD, live cinder and ash from Mount Vesuvius covered the entire city. The community of 30,000 people was effectively embalmed. The material thrown out by the volcano was lighter than lava and enabled the city to be covered, with architectural detail, furnishings, household articles, and even foodstuffs and artwork preserved intact. Walk through the streets rutted by chariot tracks, past the ancient forum, the homes of the wealthy, and the shops of the common man. Caught in the moment of death, view body casts of the eruption's victims seemingly come alive in their struggle for breath; their desire to protect loved ones and their doomed attempts to escape. Notes: Please wear comfortable waking shoes; you will spend about two hours exploring Pompeii! Kindly note that traffic on the coastline is never predictable and road jams may occur, expected travel time to Pompeii, approximately 75-90 minutes. Scenic Ravello

Enjoy a panoramic drive climbing up from the harbor in Amalfi to Ravello, one of the most famous and popular locations on the Amalfi coast. Ravello has long attracted writers, artists and celebrities, among them Greta Garbo, Gore Vidal (current resident), Richard Wagner and D.H. Lawrence, who was inspired to write Lady Chatterley's Lover here. The winding route along the famed Amalfi Drive brings you to Ravello's main square, where you set eyes on the Duomo whose linear Romanesque facade is graced with a valuable bronze door made in 1179 by Barissano da Trani. To the right stands the 13th- century bell tower. You'll visit Villa Rufolo, a spectacular complex formed by the main palazzo, built in the second half of the 13th century, and various buildings in Arabian-Sicilian style on a wide terrace facing the gulf. Having entered the smaller 14th-century tower, continue along a small avenue flanked by cypresses and reach the Moorish courtyard, decorated with friezes and arabesques. Passing the knights room, the picturesque belvedere opens up, a luxurious garden with pines, cypresses and exotic plants. After exploring the villa, enjoy some free time to browse and shop among the friendly inhabitants of Ravello before returning to the pier in Amalfi. Notes: The drive to Ravello is filled with twists and turns, and is not for the fainthearted. Athens (Piraeus)

Athens – By Private Air Conditioned Mercedes Or Van

Would you like to follow your own ideas in Athens? In this case we would like to recommend the use of an air- conditioned car or van with your own driver.
Professional English speaking guides are also available at an additional cost (the drivers do not speak English).

These cars seat up to three passengers (without a guide and two passengers with a guide) and they are an enjoyable way to explore Athens at your own pace and allow you can create your very own itinerary. For van's see information below. The city of Athens and its surroundings offer you many interesting sites to choose from. To name a few:
  • The Acropolis, naturally! Don't be tourist, race up the hill to visit the Parthenon and leave. Take the time to explore the entire lower section at the foot of the Acropolis as well. Linger in the surroundings of the hill and visit the Theatre of Herodes and the Theatre of Dionysus among other sites. It is worth your while and makes for a much more rewarding experience (allow no less than 90 minutes for a relaxing visit). Note: The small museum on top of the Acropolis is currently (2007) closed for renovation.
  • A nice stop for photos of the Acropolis can be had from the nearby Pnyx Hill; this stop only takes a few minutes but the pictures will last forever.
  • Once you have completed your visit of the Acropolis and surrounding area, a nice walk can be enjoyed if you exit the grounds of the Acropolis via the north entrance near the Stoa of Attalos, the Roman Agora and the Tower of the Winds. From there it is an enjoyable walk through the Old Athens (Plaka district) past Antique and souvenir stores as well as galleries, ending up at the city center and Syntagma Square where you can also find the Parliament building and the Grand Bretagne Hotels. Take your time during this walk; it can be done in a quick 45 minutes. But we are sure that you will want to linger so allow at least twice as much time; and once you are off the Acropolis hill, the entire rest of the walk is on mostly flat surfaces, unless you select to walk up some of the slopes in the Plaka.
  • Mount Lycabettus for amazing views of the city
  • "THE" famous National Archaeological Museum (how much time do you have? You can spend days in there). The museum is looking better than ever having been renovated for the 2004 Olympics.
  • The Benaki Museum (varied and interesting, 60 minutes or more). The outdoor rooftop restaurant is popular with locals.
  • The Museum of Cycladic Art, small but worth a visit (about 30-45 minutes). The small courtyard is a nice place to take a coffee break.
  • The Lalaounis Jewelry Museum in Acropolis area
  • "If you wish to explore the outskirts of the city as well, the drive along the coast to Cape Sounion is highly recommended. The setting of the Temple of Poseidon and the views across the Aegean Sea are spectacular.
NOTE: All of the above sites and museums are open on Sunday!
  • Should your visit fall on a Sunday, you may wish to stroll through the "Flea Market" in the Plaka district. There you will also find many shops, catering to visitors, open even on a Sunday.
  • For lunch the choices are many. We would like to recommend restaurants with a local flavor such as one of the many restaurants located at Microlimano the charming fishing harbour half way between Piraeus and Athens. Or, one of the tavernas in the Plaka district of Athens.
  • If you are planning dinner in Athens, our favorite is the rooftop restaurant at the beautiful Grand Bretagne Hotel in the centre of Athens (early reservations are essential). The night views of the Acropolis are simply stunning and the food is delicious; for a romantic dinner, it is hard to beat. The restaurant is also open for lunch (from 1:00 PM) but in our view, it can get a bit warm up there during the day.
Another rooftop option is the Galaxy Restaurant at the Hilton Hotel (dinner only from 7:30 PM). Additional lunch and dinner options.... Horizontes Restaurant at Lycabettus hill (lunch & dinner, opens at 12:30 PM) Dionysos Restaurant opposite the Acropolis (lunch & dinner, opens at 12:00 noon). Always a favorite with visitors and locals alike. Ithaki & Kastellorizo Restaurants in the Vouliagmeni / Varkiza suburbs of Athens on the coastal road (lunch & dinner open at 12:00 noon). A good choice for fish dishes and good views of the Aegean Sea. Seafood Restaurants in the Microlimano area ("Zephyros," "Jimmy & The Fish") lunch & dinner open at 12:00 noon. This area is one of our favorite settings in the charming fishing harbour about half way between Athens and Piraeus. Lots of local restaurant choices can be found by walking through the Plaka area at the foot of the Acropolis. NOTE: The prices shown require you to remain within the city limits of Piraeus and Athens; but including Cape Sounion. No entrance fees or meals are included which are at your own expense. The prices shown are PER CAR for up to 3 guests. If you select to hire a local professional guide, we recommend no more than 2 guests per vehicle. VIA PRE-BOOKED MERCEDES E-CLASS "TAXI" 4 hours - $349 per car, up to 3 guests 8 hours - $579 Each extra hour: $88 VIA PRE-BOOKED MERCEDES S-CLASS BLACK LIMOUSINE 4 hours - $469 per car, up to 3 guests 8 hours - $819 Each extra hour: $109 ATHENS " BY PRIVATE AIR CONDITIONED VAN Are you traveling with a small group of family and/or friends? Would you like to follow your own ideas in Athens? In this case we would like to recommend the use of an air-conditioned van. 4 hours - $479 per VAN, up to 17 guests 8 hours - $699 Each extra hour: $109 The prices shown are PER VAN for up to 17 guests though 10 is the most comfortable number of occupants. Hotels And Pre/post Options

SeaDream's View: Once the private residence of a wealthy expatriate Greek, the Hotel Grande Bretagne is an architectural landmark and the historic Grande dame of the city. It was recently lavishly restored and converted to a palace hotel. We at SeaDream think it is one of Europe's finest hotels. We absolutely love its convenient location - the best in Athens, and within walking distance from the fashionable Kolonaki Square with exclusive shopping, entertainment, restaurants and cafes. Also within walking distance are important museums and the historic and picturesque old quarter of Plaka with taverns, open-air coffee shops, flea market and souvenir shops. The hotel offers 321 rooms but we recommend at least a deluxe room or one of the only 22 Junior Suites; so book early and ask for one that offers splendid views of the Acropolis, Parliament and National Gardens. We also enjoy the outdoor roof top pool and highly recommend dinner in the GB Roof Garden Restaurant. Why? You'll never forget the view, the delicious food and the mix of local and international guests that fill the restaurant nightly. Reserve early and enjoy. Fiskardo, Kefalonia

Kefalonia - Movie Magic

Admit it, you've seen Ms. Penelope Cruz and Mr. Nicolas Cage in the movie "Captain Corelli's Mandolin" which was filmed here on location. Now it is your turn to discover the charm, villages, unique sites and spectacular mountain scenery of this Ionian island. Depart the charming port of FiskU¡rdon and travel through some of the lushest countryside in Greece before arriving at the village of Assos. This lovely village of whitewashed and pastel houses stands on the neck of a small peninsula, giving the impression of being an island of its own. A unique serenity permeates this cosmopolitan village; from among its streets you will view the remains of a fine Venetian castle. Continuing overland, after passing the seaside town of Agia Efimia we reach the small village of Karavomylos where the mysterious, 40,000-year-old, under-ground lake of Melisssani is located. After an earthquake, the ceiling of the cave fell in, creating what may be one of the most impressive sights you have ever seen. Boats will wait you at the shore to take you around the blue-green waters of the like and the boatmen will amuse you as they will compare, in English, the stalactites to various animals in a humorous way. Before we return to the pier we shall have the chance to pass by the beautiful town of SU¡mi where the above referenced movie was filmed.

To further enhance your enjoyment of this very special land adventure, we are also transferring, from Athens, the very best guides and vehicles. They are waiting just for you so we hope to see you on your way to the Oracle... In antiquity Delphi was one of the world's most important religious centers. An approximate 40-minute motor coach drive through the region offers a fast overview of the local flora before arriving at Delphi. Your guided visit highlights the ancient Sanctuary of Apollo, where Pythia, the celebrated Oracle dwelt, the Temple of Apollo, the Sacred Way, the amphitheater, the best preserved stadium of Greece, and the Castalia Spring, where in ancient days the pilgrims had to wash before they were allowed to consult the Oracle. In the Delphi Museum, see such treasures as the Omphalos, which marked the center of the world, and the magnificent bronze Charioteer, one of the finest pieces surviving from the 5th century BC. After the museum there will be free time to visit the village of Delphi. A fantastic journey back in time and a huge visual treat await our SeaDream guests.

Unesco Monastery & Traditional Mountain Village

IMPORTANT NOTE: The site and museum at Delphi is closed on June 17th due the Greek elections being held on this day. On this land adventure we visit St Loukas, an historic walled Monastery listed on Unesco's World Heritage and enjoy a wonderful walk around the picturesque streets of Arahova traditional village. Board your a/c motor coach at the dock and after passing by traditional villages you will arrive at St Lucas monastery, an historic walled monastery and one of the most important monuments of Middle Byzantine architecture and art. The monastery has been listed on UNESCO's World Heritage Sites in Greece. It was founded in the early 10th century by the hermit St. Lucas, whose relics are kept in the monastery to this day. The main shrine of the monastery is the tomb of St. Lucas, was originally situated in the vault, but later placed at the juncture of the two churches, the church of Theotokos and the Catholic church which is the oldest in the complex tentatively dated to 1012. Following your visit to the monastery we proceed to Arachova. Arachova is a traditional mountain village of 3,000 inhabitants with its quaint houses built up on the north slopes of Mount Parnassos at and altitude of from 2,700 to 3,600 feet. In 2000 B.C. Homer mentioned in the Iliad two famous generals who took part in the Trojan war Epistrophos and Schedias from the old towns of Anemoria and Kiparissos. These old towns were situated around where Arachova stands today. Later, in about 334 B.C. Philip the 2nd king of Macedonia destroyed both towns and their populations were dispersed over the hills until over the years one new town, Arachova, was built. Today the 'jewel' of Parnassos Arachova remains vital because it keeps its' traditions alive and the residents remain simple and hospitable. From the first moment you will feel a different wind blowing up here, and understand why the locals work so hard to upkeep the areas' natural beauty! Browse through its narrows streets with the numerous souvenir and local products shops before your return to the yacht.

At the entrance of the village there is the "Bar Vitelli", which has a collection of local artisans' tools and photographs taken when Francis Ford Coppola shot some scenes of "The Godfather ". First visit is made to the Cappuccini Church, whose crypt houses the so-called catacombs with 37 mummified bodies in wooden boxes of friars and noble people who lived there in the 18th and 19th centuries. After a short stop at "Bar Vitelli", start the a slow walking tour along the village's main street which climbs on the hill, with several Churches of 15th and 16th centuries (Chiesa Madre, Santa Lucia, San Michele ), ruins of a Norman castle and a magnificent view of the Sicilian coast-line, Strait of Messina, Italian mainland and villages perched on the surroundings hills.- Afterwards you will proceed to Forza d'Agro' ( at 30 minutes drive), a charming little village overlooking the Arab-Norman castle of Capo Sant'Alessio and the coastline towards Messina. In 1990, Al Pacino and Sophia Coppola came here when they shot some scenes of the film "The Godfather III". From the main square a lane leads up to the close Gothic-Catalan portal in front of the Church of S. Agostino (known as "Triade"), with a pleasant 15th c. facade.
