PETCHBURI SUMMER PALACE
Your SeaDream tender will bring you to Hua Hin Beach where you will be picked up for an hour journey on your motor coach to Petchaburi province, an old royal city where in 1860 King Rama IV built Khao Wang Summer Palace on the hill. Upon arrival at Petchaburi, your first visit will be Tham Khao Luang Cave which houses a Buddha image cast by the royal command of King Rama V as a dedication to King Rama III and King Rama IV. At the foot of the Khao Luang Hill, there is a large monastery called "Wat Tham Klaep" or Wat Bun-thawi which has a very large hall and a chapel with beautifully carved door panels. Reboard on your coach and drive to Khao Wang Summer Palace. You will have a chance to experience a cable car ride up to the hilltop of Khao Wang. In 1860 King Rama IV built a palace near the city of Phetchaburi, commonly known as Khao Wang, but its official name is Phra Nakon Khiri. Next to the palace the king built a tower for his astronomical observations. On the adjoining hill is the royal temple Wat Phra Kaeo Afterwards, you may take the cable car ride back to your coach and drive to Wat Mahathat Temple in which stands a five-topped pagoda constructed in accordance with the Mahayana concept housing Buddha's relics. The stucco designs decorated on the viharn and the ubosot reflect the excellent skill of local craftsmen. You will have a chance to try Monk's offering ceremony and obtain a blessing with holy water before returning to your yacht.
