Dili – All of the Sites!
Welcome to East Timor! Today your SeaDream Land Adventure includes visits to the Statue of Cristo Rei, Halillaran Market, Taci Tolu and the Tais Market. Depart Dili port with your local guide for a drive along the sea side all the way to the towering Statue of Cristo Rei. Cristo Rei of Dili (Christ the King of Dili). This is an 88.6-foot-high (27.0 m) statue of Jesus located on top of a globe in Dili, East Timor. The statue was designed by Mochamad Syailillah, who is better known as Bolil. The statue was officially unveiled by Suharto in 1996 as a gift from the Indonesian government to the people of East Timor, which was at the time still a province. Then drive to the Halillaran Market, to see local people’s activities in there before proceeding to a Local Restaurant for Lunch. After lunch drive to Taci Tolu. See the statue of Pope John Paul II. The government of Timor Leste (East Timor) has erected a statue of Pope John Paul II to honor the late pontiff's moral support for the country's self-determination. The statue, which overlooks the capital's western fringe and faces the sea, stands next to a chapel for Sunday Mass, also built in the late pope's honor, then drive back to port and your mega yacht.
