Ports

  • Civitavecchia (Rome)

One of the largest and busiest ports in the Mediterranean, Civitavecchia is the gateway to Rome. Rome's incredible history spans over 2,500 years. Rome has been awarded on of the most-visited cities in the world. Its historic center is listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Monuments and museums such as the Vatican Museums and the Colosseum are amongst the world's 50 most visited destinations. With its unique size SeaDream yachts are generally the first vessel in line at Civitavecchia. On some days, nine ships of various sizes can be seen in this busy port of call. It has come to our attention that some local taxi drivers at the airport may tell you that you can embark earlier than the scheduled 2:00 PM. Please note that this information is false and we kindly ask you to make your arrangements accordingly in order to avoid arriving at the pier prior to 2:00 PM. We thank you for your understanding. Some limo and transfer companies found on the web may not have the proper permits to enter the inner port area. Please double check with your service provider to see if they can actually take you all the way to the yacht. In some cases you may be dropped off at the port entrance and would need to take a shuttle bus with your luggage. Our Destination Specialists “DDP Incentive” have prepared pre and post voyage options for your consideration. Please check http://www.ddpincentive.it/972/Rome For more information. They are also happy to arrange your transfers, hotels and any personalized adventure for you. Please e-mail Francesca@ddpincentive.it Should you wish to call them directly please try; +39 0654 31288.

  • Portovenere (Cinque Terre)

One word – Incredible! Cinque Terre, Portovenere and the three Island of Palmaria, Tino and Tinetto have been added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1997. They have been selected for being distinguished examples of the ways in which man has been able to modify and transform the environment without altering the beauty of the original natural landscape. Most of our valued guests will participate in the ever popular “Cinque Terre: Don’t go Home Without It” Land Adventure. Others may enjoy the guided village walk or go hiking on several trails leading down the coast. Most guests will make a purchase of the mazing local pesto and we are fairly certain our Executive Chef will do the same. Be prepared for an incredible dinner alfresco this evening!

  • Sanary-sur-Mer - Aix en Provence

    Description

From the marina at Sanary-sur-Mer you will take a drive through bucolic scenery and up to to the charming old town of Aix en Provence. Many villages, but few towns, are as well preserved as this elegant, traditional capital of Provence. Stroll with your guide on a walking tour through the narrow cobblestone lanes of the Vieux Aix (old town Aix) sector as you make your way to the celebrated Cours Mirableau Avenue. Flanked with intertwining plane trees, it is the town's nerve center and divides Vieux Aix in two, with the medieval streets to the north and the sophisticated, haughty 18th-century mansions to the south. The Cathedrale Saint Sauveur is another highlight with its remarkable 15th-century triptych by Nicolas Froment and the carved pillars and slender colonnades of the lovely and tranquil Romanesque cloisters. After the guided portion of your tour, free time is afforded to explore the lovely environs of cafes and boutiques before returning to Cassis and the SeaDream quay.

  • St. Tropez - St. Tropez by Foot

    Description

Your guide will await you on the pier to show you around the village of Saint Tropez. The sightseeing discovery starts with a nice walk along the pier, passing by the most famous café “Senequier” arriving to the very tiny bay from where the visitors will enjoy the view. After this first stop, continue to the heart of St Tropez with the square of the Town Hall representing the Republic and the French Revolution from 1789. Then continue to the church of St Tropez named after the martyr “Saint Torpez”. Visit the church and listen to the story of the legend of St Tropez. Stroll through the by-streets and narrow streets, see the small authentic squares where most of them have an elm, which is the symbol of the freedom. After the effort of walking uphill, you will reach the top of the village to enjoy breathtaking views-- It's a great panorama overlooking the village of St Tropez with its red roofs and the deep and strong blue of the Mediterranean Sea. St. Tropez is not only a little harbor but also a village where art has the first place. The 20th Century is represented by the most three important movements of painting: the Fauvism with Matisse and Derain; the Pointillism with his precursor Signac; and the Nabis with Bonnard and Vuillard. • Portofino - Hiking to Santa Margherita

    Description

This picturesque hiking adventure departs from the tender pier passing through town by the trendy boutiques and shops that surround the charming piazzetta and the waterfront. Walk by the church before you reach the hiking path: depending on weather and paths conditions, the first half part of the journey is mostly uphill, walking towards Cappelletta, San Sebastiano and Olmi, to reach then Molini; the path leads the way through the Mediterranean flora, with fancy villas, vineyards and olive groves. Alternatively, you walk towards Paraggi along the breathtaking coastline where the hills and the seaside live harmoniously together, to then hike up towards Acquaviva and Molini, where an old olive oil mill has been renovated housing now a little museum and a tiny cafe with facilities. Vegetation hugs the medieval dwellings and the cliffs drop off to the crystal clear sea making this one of the most fascinating locations of the Riviera. Continue towards S.Anna and Nozarego to finally start the walk down to the main promenade of Santa Margherita Ligure. Santa Margherita's forms, colors, the arrangement of its characteristic houses, its rich villas and great hotels all seemingly painted around the bay produces something of a magical reflection. You will pause for a refreshment at a local cafe and some time to browse the shops before boarding your van for the return drive to Portofino or to just extend your stay in Santa Margherita to then make your own way back to your SeaDream yacht.

  • Cannes - St. Paul de Vence & Wine Tasting

    Description

A drive along the highway providing a nice view over the bay of Cannes leads you to St Paul . Your skilled guide will bring you to the old doors in the Old Town of St. Paul and then forward to “La Petite Cave de Saint Paul”. It is truly an exceptional experience that awaits you; trained as a Sommelier in the most prestigious Parisian Palaces, the Hôtel Le George V, Hôtel Le Ritz, but also at the Water Side Inn in England and Dorint Atlantic Palace in Morocco, Frederic Theys travelled the wine roads for 2 years over the 5 continents. Today, this inspired wine expert is delighted to welcome you in an authentic wine cellar, to share with you his passion and an exclusive selection of wines and one of many tastings he proposes every week. La Petite Cave de Saint Paul, 14th century wine cellar, welcomes you to present you its selection of wines from Provence and its Vinothèque, harboring the most important French Wines & Nectars: Bordeaux Grands Crus, Burgundy Finest, Champagne and the Rhône Valley’s best bottles, as well as a wide range of Cognac, Armagnac, Calvados, Eaux-de-Vie, Liqueurs. Already built as a Ligurian settlement over 3 000 years ago, St Paul became a local partner for the Greeks established in Antibes 2 600 years ago. Already in the 10th and 11th centuries, its fortified church and bell tower became strategic watching structures to face threats of Saracen pirates. Later, St Paul stood as the last city on the eastern border of France. Within the context of wars between France and Italy in the 16th century, it was decided to knock down 700 houses of the village and to build the ramparts still standing. As economic development stood still during the following centuries, the village retained its characteristic features. Today in its wholeness, it is classified as part of our national heritage. Strolling in St Paul is a delight for the eyes, as many craftsman shops display their colorful unique collections side by side with art galleries. St Paul stands as a shrine for the lovers of modern art, sculptures are to be admired in the streets, and uphill from the bus parking lot lays the world famous Maeght Foundation. This is also where Chagall was buried “somewhere between the sea and the skies”. After enjoying free time, a short walk brings you where the bus waited for you and you will start your drive back to Cannes and your SeaDream yacht.
