Your morning land adventure will begin with a 45-minute drive to the old trading port of Thanlyin, Thanlyin. This was a major port and important trading center from the 14th through the 18th centuries until it was displaced by Yangon in 1755. During the 17th century, the area was briefly controlled by the Portuguese adventurer, de Brito.
